Gerard Quintanar is a writer and storyteller known for both fiction and personal narrative works. He has authored children's books such as Catalina Kate: The Little Lost Bird, Tina and the Fortune Cookies, and I Love You Every Day, as well as the recent philosophical fiction novel Conundrum: Life, the Afterlife, and the Space Between, which explores themes of life, death, and the afterlife through the journey of a man who survives a violent accident and wanders through realms of judgment and grace.

In addition to his literary work, Quintanar is recognized for his personal storytelling. In 2024, he appeared in the PBS/WORLD Channel series Stories from the Stage: Suddenly, Season 7, Episode 12, where he shared a deeply personal story about receiving a diagnosis that immediately altered his life. His performance in this episode was marked by emotional honesty, reflecting on the shock and transformation that come with the diagnosis of a chronic illness.
